Sculpt A Baby - Proportion

This link is to a You Tube video that will help you achieve correct proportions for your baby sculpt. It also shows how to smooth your sculpt in the raw clay stage and then, after the clay has been baked, how to complete smoothing your doll. The doll maker demonstrates scraping the baked clay with a blade and sanding with wet dry sandpaper. Be sure to watch this informative video:

Book By Andrew Loomis With Proportion Charts

The 2 charts I find the most useful are found in the book Figure Drawing For All It's Worth by Andrew Loomis (on pages 26 and 27). I like them because the charts include a front, back and side view of male and female realistic adult figures;perfect for sculpting small scale dolls. You can download a free pdf copy of the book, thanks to this doll maker (scroll down to the bottom of the web page):  http://www.morezmore.com/links

You can also print the Loomis proportion charts from this web site:  http://sculptuniversity.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=204:ideal-proportions-for-male-a-female-chart&catid=38:freebies&Itemid=71
